Thrive Outdoor was established in early 2019 by three Tendring District locals Stephen Mayzes, Andy Bareham & Ben Eagle. Although their personal and professional backgrounds differ, they share a common passion for being outdoors and a strong belief in all the physical and mental benefits this brings to all.
Their vision is simple:
To operate an outdoor fitness & wellbeing hub that provides an attractive, fun, safe and accessible environment that can inspire even the least active amongst us. Providing a genuine alternative to traditional fitness and theraputic facilities, delivering services that appeal to the local demographic, creating a real sense of 'community' and sanctuary, free from urban stimuli for all those who attend.
Modern life is chaotic and relentlessly littered with 'quick fix' solutions for our mind and body. The stark reality is there is no such thing. Thrive Outdoor believe that the mind and body are powerful allies and where the mind leads, the body will follow - always aiming to instil a 'sustainable' mindset with regards to setting and reaching realistic goals, empowering you with the knowledge to be progressive and become the best possible version of you.
Farm Runner was developed as a simple community project providing opportunity for anyone to access the beauty of Devereux Farm and exercise within an informal but supportive 'community' setting free of charge.
Regardless of age or fitness level, all participants can walk, jog or run the 2.6 or 5km course, taking in a mix of terrain and scenery.
From the farm's perspective, it is a chance to forge bonds in the community and achieve greater public engagement for the work that farmers do to produce world-class food and care for the environment.
As a concept, Farm Runner is now spreading nationally throughout the farming network.
Farm Runner currently takes place at 8:30am every Sunday but will be expanding to week days (dates and times to be confirmed soon).
